FEBRUARY VALENTINES HIKE: Better late than not, I say. Tomorrow, Saturday, February 11th the Friends of Harrington Beach State Park are hosting a Valentine’s Hike in the Park.* The Ansay Welcome Center will be open from 10am until 2pm. We are serving up hotdogs, chips, hot beverages and special treats for all Valentines in your life. Guess how many candies are in the jar and win a certificate for a Friends t-shirt. The Shuttle road condition is clear of ice to the left hand side but patches around Quarry Lake trail may be icy.
*Vehicle entry fee is required for admittance to the park.
ANNUAL BOARD MEETING, April 27: Not just your ordinary business meeting! We are celebrating volunteerism at Harrington Beach and offering a free catered meal. Hear from folks who have been involved in satisfying work projects, park partnership projects and plans, and just plain social fun for all ages and stages. We have several opportunities for you to serve on the Friends Board. We fill board vacancies from nominations from our membership prior to the annual meeting. Would you like to be a member of the Friends? Check out our membership brochure on the home page. For as little as $25 per year per individual, you receive many benefits as well as opportunities to support the programs, projects and purpose of Harrington Beach State Park.
CONNECTION: There are many ways you can connect with the Friends. This website, our Facebook page - Friends of Harrington, monthly board meetings open to the public on the 4th Thursday of the month and emails. At the February hike, give us your contact information and a Friends member will be available to answer questions you have about the Friends non-profit organization. We’d love to hear from you!
See you in the park!
